The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be making changes at the Urraween Road and Cooks Road intersection in the coming months.

During the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road and Urraween Road intersection upgrade that was completed in 2017, a temporary right-turn was included from Cooks Road onto Urraween Road.

At the time of the intersection upgrade, TMR advised residents that the right-turn from Cooks Road to Urraween Road would be removed when Tasman Drive was connected to the Pantlins Lane roundabout as part of the housing estate development. Now that the connection in the estate is complete, the right-turn movement from Cooks Road will be removed and access to Cooks Road will be left-in, left-out only.

Access onto Urraween Road via the roundabout at Pantlins Lane is a safer option for motorists than having to negotiate crossing the westbound traffic lane and median onto the eastbound lane of Urraween Road.
