LNP To Deliver Urangan Pier Cruise Ship Feasibility Study
LNP Member for Hervey Bay Ted Sorensen has described the pledge for a feasibility study into extending the Urangan Pier to meet the cruise ships, as a potential ‘game changer’ for our local tourism industry.
“This initiative would not only boost Hervey Bay’s tourism industry by unlocking potential investment for locals, it would advance the entire Fraser Coast with increased employment opportunities and bring much needed tourism dollars to the area, Ted said.
“Labor has dropped the ball over the past three years and is missing out on a golden era of international and domestic tourism, Ted said.
“People who cruise Australian waters, have increased by 14% in last year alone and we deserve a slice of that tourism growth, Ted said.
“The LNP understands, that tourism investment and attracting more domestic and international tourists will help families get ahead, Ted said.
“Instead of sitting around talking about building infrastructure like Annastacia Palaszczuk, the LNP has put its money where its mouth is and will actually deliver the infrastructure we need.”
“Annastacia Palaszczuk has only worked out where Hervey Bay is on a map on the eve of the election,” Mr Nicholls said.
“A vote for anyone other than the LNP will see a return of a do-nothing Labor Government which has the wrong priorities and has taken the people of Hervey Bay for granted.
“The Urangan Pier feasibility study is all a part of our plan to Build a Better Queensland by Building a Better Hervey Bay.”
