LNP Hervey Bay MP Ted Sorensen has announced that the LNP will invest $1 million in a new clubhouse for Hervey Bay Girl Guides.

“Everyone knows the little blue building on the corner of Torquay and Denman Camp Roads – we have all driven past it for years,” Mr Sorensen said.

“The group came to me in desperate need for improved facilities and while the blue club house has served them well, Hervey Bay Girl Guides have certainly outgrown their current accommodation.

“The Girl Guides have done a wonderful job in our community and today Girl Guides Queensland is the largest youth organisation for girls and young women in Queensland with almost 6,000 youth members and more than 1,100 volunteer Leaders and adult Members.

LNP Shadow Minister for Communities, Women and Youth said only the LNP’s Ted Sorensen would plan and act on securing the infrastructure the Hervey Bay community needed.

“Only a vote for Ted Sorensen will see this project become a reality,” Ms Bates said.

“A vote for anyone other than the LNP will see a return of a do-nothing Labor Government which has the wrong priorities and has taken the people of Hervey Bay for granted.

“The new Girl Guides clubhouse is part of our plan to Build a Better Queensland by Building a Better Hervey Bay.”
