Once again today we have heard more proof that Annastacia Palaszczuk has used the state’s electricity generators to tax Queenslanders by stealth.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has been caught out ripping off every man, woman and child in Queensland.

Power Prices Under Labor

It doesn't matter how Labor spin it, Qlders know they'll pay more for electricity under a Labor government.

ACCC boss Rod Sims told ABC radio this morning that Labor’s decisions under Peter Beattie, Anna Bligh and now Annastacia Palaszczuk had led to Queenslanders paying though the nose for electricity.*

Mr Sims said it was not only households that were being affected by Labor’s unabashed cash-grab – small businesses and manufacturers are also feeling the pinch. #

“We have already seen some of the state’s biggest manufacturers, Sun Metals in Townsville, Boyne Smelters in Gladstone and now today, Rio Tinto, either sack workers or earmark future job losses because of soaring electricity prices under Labor.”

“We have also seen small businesses on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Fraser Coast suffer because of massive electricity hikes under this Labor government.”

“Make no mistake, we are in this mess in Queensland because the Palaszczuk Labor Government is using electricity as a tax by stealth.”

“Labor is killing jobs and destroying the state’s economy, and more alarmingly, has been caught out gouging families, small businesses and manufacturers with higher wholesale electricity prices.”

*”We gold-plated them (electricity network) and we allowed them to make excessive returns and that has contributed to people paying much more electricity than they should be paying.”
– ACCC boss Rod Sims on Steve Austin, July 25, 2017.

“There is no doubt in my mind that electricity affordability, this huge problem we have got, some would call it a crisis, is costing jobs that we should not be losing. Businesses are employing less, investing less and some of them will go out of business for reasons that really shouldn’t exist and that’s a crying shame.”
