Queensland’s job market has been labelled lacking by ANZ in the latest sign of the Palaszczuk Labor Government’s bungling economic performance.

LNP Deputy Leader and Shadow Treasurer Tim Mander said the ANZ Stateometer report showed there was no relief for Queenslanders trying to find a job.

“Under the Palaszczuk Labor Government, there are sadly more than 173,000 Queenslanders in the unemployment queue,” Mr Mander said.

“Labor’s 10 new or increased taxes are ripping $3.5 billion from Queensland’s economy and ruining job opportunities for Queenslanders.

“For much of the past 12 months, Queensland has had the worst or second worst seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the nation.

“Queensland’s economic growth has slowed to a crawl under Labor because you can’t tax your way to growth.

“All Labor has delivered is higher taxes, more debt, less jobs and less infrastructure.

“Only the LNP has an economic plan to create jobs, build congestion-busting infrastructure and we won’t introduce a single new tax.”
