GRANTS OPEN SOON! Youngcare At Home Care Grants QLD

by Ted Sorensen

Youngcare At Home Care Grants (AHCG) are available again for young people with high care needs in Queensland.

Youngcare has come a long way since four great mates got together in 2005 to create change for young Aussies with full time care needs living in aged care, or facing the very real prospect of having to. However we’ve still got a lot of work to do as the issue is complex and the need is still great, which is why Youngcare continues to press on with its effort to create far-reaching and lasting change.

Youngcare’s At Home Care Grants (AHCG) enhance the quality of life for young people (aged 18-65 years) living at home with high care needs and at risk of entering aged care.

The program provides grants of $2,000 to $10,000 for essential equipment, home modifications or services such as respite or in home care, to prevent new admissions into aged care. In 2015, a total of $203,000 was awarded in Queensland, to 34 applicants.

I am pleased to announce that in 2016 Youngcare is able to provide $200,000 worth of grants through the next round of the AHCG program in Queensland which opens on Wednesday 3 August 2016.

The online application form and information booklet can be accessed from www.youngcare.com.au/ahcg

Applications must be submitted by Wednesday 14 September 2016.

Should you have any questions about the AHCG scheme and funding round, please contact our Youngcare Connect Manager, Mr Shane Jamieson, on 07 3041 3400.

Yours sincerely,

Samantha Kennerley
Chief Executive Officer
